Palenque, Chiapas — Military personnel from the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) secured a plane loaded with cocaine in Palenque, Chiapas. The weekend drug bust occurred after the plane, which was being tracked, lost its way landing at the Palenque International Airport.
Military personnel seized the suspecious plane. Upon inspection, they reported finding 41 sacks with 1,205 cocaine bricks weighing approximately 1,356 kilograms. In their statement, Sedena says the possible market value would have been in excess of 368 million peso.
Aside from the plane load of cocaine, two people were detained. They say the insured cocaine and the detainees were made available to the corresponding authorities.
