Cancun, Q.R. — Police attended to a Colombian man who was found wandering along Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard Monday. According to the man, he was the victim of an abduction and physical attack after boarding a taxi in front of the Mandala nightclub the night before.
The man, a tourist to the area, said he got in the taxi outside the nightclub on Kukulcán Boulevard around 3:30 a.m., but instead of being driven to his requested destination, he was intercepted and left in the hands of armed men.
He was forced into a private vehicle and taken to a home where he was physically assaulted and robbed of his cash and personal belongings. His attackers also cut off his left ear. After several hours, they abandoned him along Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard where he was seen by police late Monday morning.
The man has been identified as 44 year old Jaime León Valencia “I” from Colombia. He was reportedly staying at a hotel in the Cancun Hotel Zone.

Paramedics responded to the 11:30 a.m. police request for assistance for medical attention. The victim was transported to a private hospital for attention to injuries that included bruises, contusions, wounds on both hands and the complete amputation of his left ear.
