Cancun, Q.R. — More than 1.6 tons of seized narcotics and crime objects were burned at the Cancun military facility Thursday. The burn is part of the ongoing fight against drug crime around the state.
On Thursday morning, the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in the State of Quintana Roo carried out the burn in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), National Guard (GN) and Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR).
Just over 1.6 tons of narcotics were incinerate that included 120 kilos of cocaine, 1.4 tons of marijuana and 863 grams of methamphetamine. The incineration also included the destruction of 492 objects of crime.
The narcotics that were destroyed were related to 68 drug-related investigations from around the state. The incineration took place at the Military Garrison facilities based in Cancun.
