Mexico extradites cartel leader to face charges in U.S. court

Mexico City, Mexico — A criminal gang leader belonging to the Sinaloa cartel has been extradited to the United States. The extradition was made in compliance with the Extradition Treaty between Mexico and the U.S.

According to the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR), Jorge “G” was handed over to U.S. federal authorities at the Mexico City International Airport Sunday.

Jorge “G” was wanted in the Federal District Court of Columbia for narcotics, criminal association and brandishing and discharging a firearm.

Jorge “G” is accused of belonging to a criminal organization and one of the leaders of the Sinaloa cartel and is believed responsible for the trafficking of various amounts of drugs to the United States.
