Mexican wanted in New York court for cocaine smuggling extradited

Mexico City, Mexico — A person of Mexican nationality required in a Western District New York court has been extradited. Through an investigation, U. S. authorities identified Gilberto “A” as a member of a criminal organization that operated in Mexico and the United States engaged in smuggling, drug distribution, and money laundering activities, the FGR reported.

The defendant is accused of sending large amounts of cocaine from Mexico to the U.S.

The Government of Mexico granted the extradition of the defendant to the Government of the United States after Gilberto “A” was arrested in the state of Chihuahua, in December 2022.

His delivery was made at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) to the designated U.S. agents for his final transfer.
