Men arrested for denying firemen access to Puerto Aventuras property

Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Solidaridad firemen were at the scene of a raging scrapyard fire in Puerto Aventuras Saturday. Firemen were on scene after reports of an on-site explosion.

According to local reports, personnel from Civil Protection and the fire department were initially denied entry to the scrapyard by a group of men. The men were aggressive toward authorities since, it has been revealed, the scrapyard operates illegally.

Authorities trying to tend to the fire had to call police for assistance in entering the property to extinguish the fast spreading flames. Elements of the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) responded, arriving to provide firemen access.

While at the scene, police arrested the men for their agressiveness toward authorities and obstruction.

At least one of several LP gas tanks found on the property exploded during the fire. Solidaridad officials continue with their investigation into a cause.
