Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — On Tuesday, the Municipal Secretariat for Public Safety reported that a person had been wounded by gunfire on a Puerto Morelos beach.
The wounded man has been identified as 24-year-old Fernando G.M. from Cancun. The young man was shot twice near a hotel along the beach while working as a cigar salesman. Reports say that on Tuesday morning, four people suddenly approached Fernando G.M. and fired, hitting him twice.
Fernando G.M. said that the four came toward him in a threatening manner and without explanation when one pulled out a gun. When he attempted to run, they began shooting.
Fernando was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. There was no update as to his status, however, agents of the Policía Municipal say they are working on the corresponding investigations.
