Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man reportedly died of a heart attack Sunday while swimming at a Playa del Carmen beach. The unidentified man, who was with his family, died along the beach at Xcalacoco in the city’s north.
Reports say the accident happened after the man began swimming. After only a few moments in the sea, he returned to the sand saying he felt very tied. He laid down, which is when he apparently suffered a heart attack.
Paramedics responded to the Emergency 911 call, however, the man was pronounced without vitals signs. Since he was already deceased, the intervention of the ministerial authorities was requested.
The body was removed by forensic personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office and transferred to the Forensic Medical Service.
