Cancun, Q.R. — Two separate accidents at nearly the same time along Cancun’s Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard had traffic slow going for hours. Each separate accident happened in the opposite lane, affecting motorists in both directions.
One of the accidents happened around 6:00 p.m. near the entrance to Alfredo V. Bonfil when a pickup and combi collided. Ambulances were called to the scene since there were reports of injured passengers inside the public transport unit.
The crushed pickup was left immobilized facing traffic while the combi was pushed up onto the central median. One lane was closed due to the two vehicle crash.
In the opposite direction of the same Boulevard, a new van and old-model SUV collided. The van’s side-rear was hit and left crushed inward. The old Cherokee ended up heavily damaged against a concrete pole.
Traffic was affected in both directions while Cancun Transit Officers sorted out the late afternoon crashes.
