Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police cordoned off a residential area in Villas del Sol Wednesday after a broad daylight shooting. A man who was reported shot several times was found dead on a sidewalk.
He was hit numerous times by gunfire in a targeted attack by a subject on a motorcycle. The shooting happened near a neighborhood market Wednesday morning. Witnesses told police the man was walking on CTM Avenue and Periférico when an armed man took aim and began shooting.
At least six shots were reported fired before the gunmen fled. Paramedics confirmed the shot man dead at the scene. He has not been publicly identified.
