Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Armed men gunned down two others in the area of La Fe in the municipality of Puerto Morelos Friday night. Municipal Police from Solidaridad were first on scene followed by military who responded to the reports of gunfire.
It was around 9:00 p.m. when men on a motorcycle are reported to have opened fire in the targeted attack. The victims, Julio “N” and Rigoberto “N”, were hit by the spray of bullets and transferred by ambulance to the emergency room of a Playa del Carmen hospital.
At least six shots were reported fired against the two men who neighbors reported seeing laying on the ground afterward. They were shot while outside their home on Timón Avenue. One of the men was reportedly shot three times.
The motorcycle fled, heading toward the 307 federal highway where they were successful in evading authorities.
