Zacatecas, Zacatecas — The Attorney General’s Office in Zacatecas reports the sentencing of 12 years each for four men who have been found guilty of transporting illegal immigrants.
La Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) in the delegation of Zacatecas say a federal judge has sentenced Roger A, Artemio A, Uriel D and Sergio J for the crime of transporting foreigners. Each man was sentenced to 12 years in prison and a fined 422,450 peso.
The sentencing derived from the provision made by elements of the Policía Federal Ministerial (PFM) in coordination with elements of the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) which originated from an anonymous complaint.
In it, they denounced that undocumented people were being moved inside a passenger bus. Police set up an inspection along the Nezahualcóyotl road, where they located the bus and stopped it for review.
When the vehicle was inspected, 82 people were located inside that could not prove their legal stay in the country of which 42 were adults and 40 were minors, all of whom were of Guatemalan and Honduran origin. They had traveled from the state of Chiapas and were headed to Tijuana, Baja California.
