Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The driver of a private vehicle started their Friday morning commute in a highway ditch. Highway Transit along with firemen were sent to the early morning scene in the municipality of Puerto Morelos where they located the overturned car.
It was around 9:00 a.m. when the driver lost control and flipped the car into a section of highway ditch. Responding personnel found the car on its roof. The driver was reportedly heading toward Playa del Carmen at the time of the single-vehicle mishap.
The unidentified driver of the car was treated for minor injuries before being transferred to hospital. Traffic was affected while a tow truck removed the overturned car from the weeds.
Speed is said a factor in the accident. The car was taken to a federal corralón while police investigate.
