Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — National Guard were called to a fatal nighttime hit and run outside Puerto Aventuras Saturday. The driver of a tow truck was hit by a vehicle late Saturday night while inspecting a tire.
Highway motorists called emergency 9-1-1 after witnessing the accident. Authorities arrived to find the tow truck driver dead. Juan “N”, 20, was pronounced at the scene by paramedics.
According to witnesses, the tow truck driver was inspecting his truck when a vehicle hit him in the shoulder. The driver of the offending vehicle kept going. The young tow truck driver was thrown several meters from his truck and killed.
National Guard cordoned off the area while the body and tow truck were removed from the highway.
