Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police report the arrest of a female near the ferry crossing after a narcotics alerted its handler.
The woman was passing by the area along Avenida 1 Norte on foot when a narcotics dog, who was patrolling with his handler, stopped in front of the woman. Under Article 21 of the Constitution of the United Mexican States, a safety and prevention review was carried out.
An element of the Ministry of Public Security and Municipal Transit of Solidaridad performed an inspection, which is when they found a stash of cocaine. On her person, police discovered 27 grams of cocaine powder. The woman, who has not been identified, was arrested for being found in possession of an illegal drug.
