Cozumel, Q.R. — A suspect picked up on drug dealing is being investigated for murder. On Thursday, Cozumel police arrested Francisco Antonio “N” in San Miguel after he was found in possession of crack cocaine.
He is now being investigated for the August 1 murder of an islander.
According to the State Attorney General (FGE), police serviced Francisco Antonio “N” an arrest warrant “for his alleged participation in drug dealing. At the time of his arrest, the defendant was found with bags that contained a substance with characteristics of crack cocaine.”
After his arrest, “investigations point to Francisco Antonio “N” for his probable participation in the crime of qualified homicide to the detriment of a victim of reserved identity, which occurred on the island on August 1 of this year,” the FGE reported in a statement.
They did not provide further details regarding the August 1 island murder.
