Cozumel, Q.R. — An island businessman was shot and killed outside his home Thursday night by two men waiting in the shadows. Neighbors reported the deadly shooting to emergency services after hearing gunfire.
The man had just arrived home on Boulevard Aeropuerto when shots rang out. The now-deceased, Erick “C”, was reportedly the owner of two Cozumel beach clubs.
Neighbors have detailed that the pair of hitmen were already at the scene waiting for Erick “C” to arrive. The moment he stepped out of his vehicle, they began shooting.
Island officers searched for those responsible but did not make any arrests. The FGE issued a brief statement on the shooting death.
“The FGE of Quintana Roo informs that after the death of a person due to a firearm shot on Boulevard Aeropuerto in the municipality of Cozumel, they are working in coordination with the SSC to find the whereabouts of the person(s) responsible for these events.”
