Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun police officer remains critical after being shot twice. The incident happened early Friday morning as the officer was driving out of his garage.
While in his car, he was approached by subjects and forcefully removed from his vehicle. He was taken to another location and reportedly shot twice in the abdomen. He was dumped off by his captors and eventually found by officers near Francisco I. Madero Avenue who rushed him to hospital.
The forced removal from his car and subsequent shooting happened in SM 100 around 5:00 a.m. The report of his abduction was made to the C5 Command Centre of Cancun by neighbors who saw what happened.
Police units were sent in search of Cancun officer Rodolfo “N”, who was found with two bullet wounds to his abdomen. Reports say that the shot officer was part of a recent police pursuit in Cancun that left the driver of a motorcycle dead.
