Cancun., Q.R. — A man was captured and tied up by a group of neighbors Tuesday, after allegedly trying to strip a woman of her belongings. The attempted assault happened in the residential area of Villas de Mar in Region 248 of Cancun.
The man is said to have demanded the cell phone and other valuables from a teenage girl walking through the neighborhood. Rather than hand over her items, she screamed, capturing the attention of several passersby who stopped to help.
The angry neighbors proceeded to tie the man and leave him face-down on the street where he remained until police arrived.
Last week, neighbors in the same residential area of Cancun captured two young men who were allegedly attempting to rob a home. One of the youths was beaten to death, while the other took refuge in a nearby house until police arrived.
