Cozumel, Q.R. — An American man wanted on rape and child pornography charges in the state of Florida has been arrested in Cozumel. The Attorney General’s Office reports the arrest of Jaysein S, who they say, fled the US and has been hiding in Cozumel.
The FGE says his capture was due to an outstanding arrest warrant for charges of child pornography, obscene touching and promoting sexual acts, among others.
In their press release, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) explained the American man was located and detained after a follow-up and tracing operation was implemented to identify the place where the accused was hiding.
Once located, personnel from the PDI QROO and the National Anti-kidnapping Coordination assigned to the National Guard proceeded to arrest and transfer him from the Island of Cozumel to Cancun.
The FGE says Jaysein S arrived in Mexico after fleeing from US justice where, in the state of Florida, he has more than 40 sex-related court injunctions pending.
