Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A Monday morning highway crash left four injured in Puerto Morelos. Four painters were taken to hospital after the driver of their company vehicle overturned.
Early morning motorists reported the highway accident around 9:00 a.m. on a section of road between Puerto Morelos and Cancun. Emergency vehicles from Puerto Morelos arrived at the scene where they found the truck on its roof.
The driver was heading north at the time of the accident. The vehicle was transporting buckets of paint and four workers, two of whom were in the bed of the truck when it rolled.
Paramedics treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to hospital. The two men from the bed of the truck are reported to be in serious condition.
Highway Division personnel manned traffic along the Puerto Morelos highway accident scene while paramedics transferred the injured and a tow truck removed the overturned vehicle.
An official cause for the accident is unknown.
