Isla Mujeres, Q.R. –The State Attorney General Oscar Montes de Oca, has confirmed two bodies found on a property near Isla Blanca on mainland Isla Mujeres have been identified from skeletal remains.
The identification of the bodies has not been released publicly, however, Montes de Oca said that both men correspond to construction workers reported as missing. Both bodies will be turned over to their families.
“We are already in the progress of the identification of the victims. We already have two with a high probability of knowing who they are. The delivery of the bodies to the relatives continues. I want to tell you that there are two detainees who have participated in those events and that they are the ones who have provided the information about how the events happened,” he explained.
He added that the investigation into the disappearance of others continues on the site. In late November, two men were arrested for their participation in at least one death, however, at the time of their arrest, police said they suspected the pair were involved in other deaths.
