Tulum, Q.R. — Three properties in the coastal area of Tulum were evicted of its occupants Thursday morning by FGE agents. Agents from the State Attorney General (FGE) were at the scene shortly before noon to seize the three properties.
The Tulum Hotel Zone properties, which are part of an ongoing legal battle, were emptied of people and closed down by state authorities. The evictions and subsequent seizure occurred in properties located in Tulum’s land-troubled Punta Piedra.
The seized properties were officially shut with FGE seals and left under National Guard and Municipal Police guard for several hours afterward.
The Punta Piedra area is a frequent scene of evictions and seizures due to land disputes that date back decades. Authorities have not commented on the seizures or provided any details surrounding the law suite.
In late February, a legal land battle in central Tulum resulted in the seizure of two properties.
