Tula, Hidalgo — Three Pemex workers were reported stabilized after a Pemex pipeline caught fire. A line in Tula, Hidalgo caught fire Wednesday afternoon when Pemex personnel were attending to a fuel spill from a clandestine intake.
Three workers suffered third-degree burns. Three company trucks and a backhoe were completely destroyed in the fire. The fire happened around 4:00 p.m. when workers were attempting to seal a clandestine intake.
Human error has been reported as the cause of the fire. The three Pemex workers were rushed to hospital.
Area residents were evacuated until flames were contained.
