Tulum, Q.R. — The body of a young woman found Monday off a Tulum highway has been identified as a local from the neighboring municipality. The woman, who was seen laying near the entrance of Laguna de Kaan Luum, was known to police.
On Monday morning, a motorist reported seeing the body of the young woman off the federal highway. She has been identified as 18 year old Dulce Dalay “N” from Felipe Carrillo Puerto, a teen arrested in September for drug possession.
She was taken into custody September 19 along with her partner, 23 year old Alan Alexis “N” after police found 118 street-ready doses of narcotics on them. Both were taken into custody but later released.
After their arrests, the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública y Protección Ciudadana de Tulum reported “as a result of ongoing prevention and deterrence patrols conducted by the Secretariat of Public Security and Citizen Protection, two individuals were arrested early this Friday, September 19, for their probable involvement in crimes against public health.
“The detainees are: Alan Alexis “N,” 23 years old, originally from Valladolid, Yucatán and Dulce Dalay “N,” 18 years old, originally from Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
“During the operation, the following evidence was seized: 80 Ziploc-type packages containing a green herb, similar to marijuana and 38 packages containing granulated material, presumably the drug known as crystal meth.
“Both individuals were handed over to the appropriate authorities.With these actions, the Secretariat reaffirms its commitment to the safety of the people of Tulum, strengthening operational actions that contribute to peace and order in our municipality.”

On Monday morning, the body of the teenager was found dumped off the federal highway in the municipality of Tulum. Paramedics confirmed her death after locating a gunshot wound to her head.
