Cozumel. Q.R. — The suspect in a Campeche kidnapping has been located and arrested on the island of Cozumel. On Saturday, Marco Antonio “N” was captured by authorities and taken into custody from his island workplace.
Derived from an outstanding arrest warrant, the State Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with the Campeche State Prosecutor’s Office, executed an arrest warrant against a male person, the agency said in a statement.
The suspect, “Marco Antonio “N”, is accused of his possible participation in the crime of kidnapping committed to the detriment of a victim whose identity is withheld, in events that occurred in September 2022,” they added.
“Thanks to traditional and technological Intelligence work, it was possible to obtain the location of the accused’s workplace where elements of the Investigative Police completed the court order.
“After the arrest of the accused, the corresponding procedures were carried out to be placed at the disposal of the authorities that requested him in Campeche.”
