Cozumel, Q.R. — One youth was shot dead and another taken to hospital after at least two subjects opened fired. Area residents called emergency services after the central Tuesday night shooting on 8th Street and 30th Avenue.
The men were reportedly walking on a sidewalk when two men aboard a motorcycle drove by taking aim at the pedestrians. Police located one of the shooting victims laying dead on a sidewalk. The second male was injured by the gunfire and taken to hospital.
Agents from the Secretariat of Citizen Security cordoned off the area in wait for State Attorney General personnel.
Police have not identified the shooting victims.
