Tulum, Q.R. — Police say Esteban “N” has been charged with the attempted murder of two people in the town of Tulum. The pair were surveying a property in the Tulum Hotel Zone in June 2026 when they were shot.
Authorities were notified of the shooting by a Tulum hospital after the man and woman arrived with injuries from gun shots.
Authorities reported on Monday that Esteban “N” has since been charged in their shootings with attempted aggravated homicide.
Esteban “N” has been connected for his probable participation in events possibly constituting the crime of aggravated homicide in the degree of attempted, against two people, which occurred on June 16 of this year, on a property located in the coastal area of the municipality of Tulum, police reported Monday in a press conference.
“The victims were carrying out surveillance work on the property where the suspect had allegedly gone on several occasions to threaten them, telling them that he was the owner of the property, and that if they did not leave, he would kill them,” police detailed.
Esteban “N” allegedly arrived at the property aboard a car with a firearm in his hand, shooting at both the man and woman who arrived at the hospital with “various injuries”, authorities confirmed.
The man was admitted in serious condition and later transferred to a Playa del Carmen hospital. The woman suffered a bullet graze. Both survived the Tulum attack.
