Cozumel, Q.R. — Patrolling police officers surprised a man who was reported for removing a television from a private home. A resident of Boulevard Aeropuerto flagged down a patrolling police unit Thursday to report the man, who they said, did not live in the home.
When police approached, they found the burglar had actually removed three flat screen televisions from the home. The man was arrested for theft from the central area of San Miguel.
The burlugary and subsequent arrest happened at 3:45 a.m. at a private home along 10th Street due to a neighbor report.
According to the Cozumel Police report, “elements approach and descend from their unit to interview a resident who said that the man did not live in that house and that no one had given him permission to enter.
“At the scene, this person had already removed three 32-inch flat screen televisions of different brands.
“Agents tried to communicate with someone at the home but no one responded, confirming that no one was there, so they proceeded to formally arrest the man and take him to the Public Security Directorate for his probable participation in the crime of home robbery.”
