Cozumel, Q.R. — Three people were injured in a two vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on the island of Cozumel. The accident was reported in Colonia Adolfo López Mateos that left a car under an SUV.
Cozumel firemen were requested to assist in the removal of two people who were found trapped inside one of the involved vehicles. According to early information, one of the drivers ran a marked intersection and was hit by a second vehicle traveling at a fast rate of speed.
The driver of the car ended up crashing into the driver’s side door of the SUV as it passed through the intersection. The impact caused the car to push the SUV into a concrete wall. The car came to a stop under the SUV.
Two people from inside the SUV along with the driver of the car were transferred to hospital from the 1:00 p.m. crash scene. Tow trucks were brought in to separate and remove the vehicles.
