Cozumel, Q.R. — A man and woman labeled part of a violent criminal group on the island of Cozumel have been arrested. Brenda Berenice “N” and Romario Uriel “N” were captured by Cozumel police on Félix Gonzáles Canto Avenue Monday.
According to the State Attorney General (FGE), both are related to a violent criminal group from where they play their role as drug dealers. The FGE has also said that Romario Uriel “N” is the leader of not only drug sellers, but also of hitmen on the island of Cozumel.
Investigative police officers arrested Brenda Berenice “N” and Romario Uriel “N” on Félix Gonzáles Canto Avenue for their alleged involvement in the commission of acts that could constitute drug dealing, they said in a statement.
“During the routine inspection, elements seized doses of a crystalline substance with characteristics similar to the drug known as crystal, as well as cell phones and a compact vehicle,” the agency reported.
Brenda Berenice “N” and Romario Uriel “N”, as well as the evidence secured, were made available to the Public Ministry.
