Island roads being rehabilitated across Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A large municipal project of paving and rehabilitating the streets of Isla Mujeres continues. Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde says work is currently being carried out on Halcón Street in the Cañotal neighborhood.

She says the ongoing project of the paving and rehabilitation of streets and sidewalks is part of the comprehensive program with the purpose of providing decent and safe roads to island families.

With this program, the municipal government reflects its commitment to the improvement of urban infrastructure and road safety for drivers and pedestrians. Atenea Gómez specified that Halcón Street will be rebuilt with hydraulic concrete, thereby meeting a citizen demand.

“During our tours of the streets, the neighbors expressed their concern about the poor condition of this road, so I feel very happy that we are taking care of this street,” said the mayor.

Ángel Hernández Azueta, the General Coordinator of Public Works, said that thanks to this program, seven neighborhoods have been attended to including La Gloria, Cañotal, Lol Bé, Salina Chica, Caribeña, Metereológica and Centro.
