Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Government of Isla Mujeres continues to move forward with its ongoing paving projects. Municipal roads are being maintained on both the island and mainland.
Ángel Azueta, the General Directorate of Public Works said with the launch of the paving projects, the Municipal Government is moving forward with the transformation of the Continental Zone, which for many years, had remained abandoned.
In a work tour, Azueta supervised roadwork in the Loma neighborhood and on Rancho Viejo Avenue, which have an advancement of 39 and 32 percent respectively.
The municipal official noted that the roads are being worked on from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., so patience is requested from motorists since they are considered necessary projects.
Azueta reported that paving of Perimetral Avenue on the island is about half finished. He reported 50 percent progress in the paving of Perimetral Avenue from Chedraui to Parque de La Gloria of the island.
He also said that curbs and sidewalks that were broken or in poor condition have been rehabilitated from Avenida Isla Contoy to Calle Espátula in the direction of Chedraui.
The entire municipal paving project includes 24,500 square meters of rehabilitated roads as well as the installation of speed bumps, lighting, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
