Isla Mujeres, Q. R. — For two days already this week, Isla Mujeres fishermen have been told to stay docked due to the prevailing winds. Port Authorities of the municipality have again, closed water navigation to small vessels.
For two consecutive days, Isla Mujeres ports were closed to small boats. Both recreation vessels and fishing boats had to remain docked after the region recorded another day of strong southeast winds.
At 10:00 a.m., Port Authorities were reporting gusts of 45 km/h in Playa Centro.
Port Authorities in Playa del Carmen also closed water navigation to small vessels for two days this week due to the ongoing winds after a small boat sank. Weather is expected to improve with forecasts calling for lowered gusts.
