INM locates a third bus in one week of illegal migrants

Fortín de las Flores, Veracruz — A bus carrying 149 illegal migrants was stopped by police and immigration authorities over the weekend. On board, INM reported finding 149 illegal people that were attempting to pass through Mexico.

The bus was located and stopped on a section of highway in Veracruz. The National Institute of Migration (INM) said the driver was following the Tapachula-CDMX route when it was discovered.

On board, they found 139 people from Guatemala, 18 of which was unaccompanied minors, along with four adults from Ecuador, two from India, two from Honduras and two from El Salvador.

In their statement, they reported that the driver of the bus left Tapachula, Chiapas bound for Mexico City. All 149 on board were transferred to INM facilities, while the driver of the bus was arrested. It is the third bus load of illegal migrants located by INM in one week.
