Paraíso, Tabasco — Two people were taken to hospital after a private helicopter collapsed during landing. The accident happened Thursday morning in the port of Dos Bocas in the state of Tabasco.
According to Lenin Ramón, head of the Paraíso Civil Protection, the crash occurred around 9:30 am when the aircraft tried to land after returning from an oil platform in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
While descending to land, the aircraft abruptly collapsed from approximately 10 meters in the air. The helicopter was carrying five people, three from Pemex and the two pilots. All onboard are said to have received minor scrapes and bruises.
The pilot reported an unidentified object hitting the rear rotor of the helicopter, which caused the fall. The helicopter, which belongs to Pegaso Air Transport company, transports personnel to platforms located in Gulf waters. An investigation is underway.
