Felipe Carrillo Puerto police responding to bar fight shoot armed subject

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Municipal Police shot a man in the knee inside a bar in Felipe Carrillo Puerto Friday. The incident happened when officers were threatened when responding to a public disorder report.

The shooting happened Friday evening around 7:40 p.m. when police arrived in response to a fight inside a bar on 69th and 50th Street.

As police entered Los Delfines bar, they were confronted by two men, one of which was armed. One of the responding officers is reported to have shot the armed man in the knee. The second man fled.

Paramedics were called who treated the injured man before transferring him to hospital under police escort. The bar was cordoned off while officers collected evidence and began an official investigation.
