Cozumel, Q.R. — Shots fired in the parking lot of a grocery store left the building damaged in what appears to be a targeted attack. On Thursday morning, gunmen from inside a moving vehicle took aim at an individual, leaving bullet holes in the façade of the store.
The shooting happened before the store was opened to the public. At least one window was found with a bullet hole. No injuries were reported.
According to information obtained, the targeted attack was against an island resident, Cristian “T”, who was shot at while walking past the closed store. It was around 6:30 a.m. when 911 was made aware of the shooting.
Authorities cordoned off the parking lot and closed traffic in the area while they investigated. Arrests in the targeted shooting have not been announced.
