Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun firemen removed a body that was reported seen floating under a pier. The body was located by a passerby on Playa Caracol in the Cancun Hotel Zone early Wednesday.
Elements of the Tourist Police were first at the scene having received the report Wednesday morning. They arrived to verify the finding and notify authorities. In shallow water under the pier, Cancun firemen were charged with the removal of the floating body of an adult male.
The man was found dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. The area was cordoned off while the body was removed from the water and eventually collected by the Medical Examiner.
The unidentified man is believed to have drowned, however, an autopsy will be performed for the official cause of death.
