Cozumel, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office reports that Investigative Police assigned to the municipality of Cozumel have detained to Marco A in compliance with an arrest warrant as a probable participant in the crime of qualified injuries.
The first investigations establish that the events occurred August 10, 2020, when Marco A injured a person identified as 31-year-old J.E.C.C. with a firearm in the San Miguel neighborhood in Cozumel after shooting him.
The victim fled and was able to request help through the Emergency 911 number.
FGE personnel investigated after which time they requested and obtained the arrest warrant for Marco A. The 26-year-old was taken into police custody on a public thoroughfare of Cozumel. He was transferred to the Social Reintegration Center of Cozumel by elements of the Ministerial Police.
