Cozumel police arrest two service providers for harassing tourists

Cozumel, Q.R. — Two men have been removed from Cozumel streets after they were reported for harassing tourists, both of which, have been identified as local service providers.

The director of the Municipality’s Public Security Directorate, Guido Rosas López, says that a report was received through Emergency 911 in which two tourist service providers were denounced for harassing tourists along 7 South Street.

Police responded to the call where they found 41-year-old Manuel N and 31-year-old Miguel N harassing and pressuring tourists into purchasing tour services and vehicle rentals.

The pair were arrested for disturbing public order. Rosas López says they were transferred to Public Security where they will have to comply with fines for violating the Police and Good Governance Regulations.
