Cozumel, Q. R. — Lieutenant Rafael Tenorio Pizano has been named the new head of Cozumel Civil Protection. On Thursday, Pizano was sworn in to head the island’s Civil Protection unit, which includes its firefighters and lifeguards.
“With the firm intention of reinforcing the direction of Civil Protection, firefighters and lifeguards of the municipality of Cozumel, the new Director, Lieutenant Rafael Tenorio Pizano, will be in charge of the prevention, combat and rescue programs and actions carried out by the corporation on the island,” Cozumel mayor Juanita Alonso Marrufo published in a statement.
The person in charge of officiating this event was the general secretary of the City Council, Ociel González González, who introduced the new director to the elements of the different areas, urging them to work as a team to provide the community with the protection and well being they deserve.
Piazno expressed his gratitude to Mayor Alonso Marrufo for the trust placed, stating that he will put into action all the experience acquired in his previous commissions, as is the case with the Secretary of the Navy and more recently, as deputy inspector, incidental commander and regional coordinator of the Cozumel National Guard.
