Cancun undercover sting gets woman jailed for hosting teen parties

Cancun, Q.R. — A woman has been arrested and her home seized after police find underage kids partying. According to the State Attorney General (FGE) of Quintana Roo, the woman threw parties for underage teens allowing them “unrestricted access to alcoholic beverages.”

The home in SM 523 was searched Sunday after a Cancun judge issued a warrant. Once inside, “the organizer was arrested, who turned out to be a foreign woman with temporary residence in the country.”

She was arrested “for the flagrant commission of the crime of sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages and possible corruption of minors,” the FGE detailed.

When police arrived they found more than 200 people inside, approximately 50 of whom, were teens “consuming alcoholic beverages.” The FGE reported that their invesgitations “indicate that the adolescents who attended had unrestricted access to alcohol and drugs, in addition to being allowed to have sexual relations on the premises.”

Police became aware of the parties from one of their own who worked undercover. The undercover agent belongs to the Specialized Investigation Unit for Crimes of Trafficking and Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents.
