Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun man on his way to work Friday morning was shot twice after resisting a mugging. The incident happened in SM 259 early Friday. It was shortly after 5:00 a.m. when Cancun police were notified of the shooting.
According to the victim, two men approached him while he was walking along Lankin Avenue and demanded his wallet. When he refused, they shot him in the leg and arm.
The unidentified Cancun man was able to run and escape from the area, which is when he ran into a patrolling police unit. Officers did search for the armed pair of muggers but did not locate them.
The young man was taken to Cancun hospital for non-life-threatening bullet wounds.
