Cancun, Q.R. — Angel “M” has been formally charged with human trafficking of a minor. The charges stem from an incident in Cancun when he was arrested by police during a drug bust.
According to the State Attorney General’s Office, Ángel “M” has been charged for human trafficking in its modality of child pornography to the detriment of a girl of reserved identity.
At the time of his arrest, the defendant was with another person who managed to flee, however, Angel “M” had in his possession two printed images of a girl and a telephone number.
For this reason, the detainee was referred to the Specialized Investigation Unit for Crimes of Trafficking and Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents, who requested and obtained an arrest warrant from a judge and its respective connection to proceedings for the crime of trafficking people in its modality of child pornography.
The FGE says that Ángel “M” will remain in pretrial detention for a term of two years, expiring on January 26, 2025.
