Cancun C5 cameras pick up speeding car whose armed driver ends up arrested

Cancun, Q.R. — An armed man was detained by elements of the Quintana Roo Police after a chase that involved gunfire. The arrest was made after police responded to a report from the Cancun C5 Centre, who picked up the man on security cameras for excessive speeding.

The Chevy was located and police began a chase of his vehicle in SM 68. When he saw police, he allegedly fired two shots at their unit. Police fired back and eventually intercepted the Chevy. Inside, authorities located a loaded weapon and ammo.

Its driver, 33-year-old Pedro N, was handcuffed and transferred to Cancun police facilities.
