Isla Mujeres, Q,R. — The dismembered body of person was found Tuesday afternoon in the Sac Bajo neighborhood of Isla Mujeres. A passerby saw the black plastic bag in the water at the end of a pier.
Police responding to the finding arrived to verify its contents. The area was cordoned off while they moved the large bag onto the dock. The dismembered body, which is believed to be that of a man, was found between a black suitcase and a black plastic bag in the Makax Lagoon.
Area residents made the grim discovery and called police. So far, authorities have not made any comment regarding the finding.
