Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed the identity of the human remains found in a bag earlier this week. The body of the decease man has been identified as 57-year-old Jesús N, who was reported missing April 21.
Jesús N was reported missing five days earlier from his Isla Mujeres home by his family. His body was located inside a black bag that was found floating in the Makax Lagoon Tuesday afternoon.
Passersby notified police after they saw the large black bag floating near the shore. Isla Mujeres officers arrived and pulled the bag from the water onto the dock where it remained until the coroner arrived. Authorities did not provide information as to the cause of his death.
