Cancun, Q.R. — Two males remain in custody after arresting officers found a dead body. The deceased body was located on the patio of a home one of the men ran to during his subsequent arrest.
The pair were initially stopped for driving a motorcycle on Cancun streets without a license plate. During their search, officers located a short black firearm with the legend BKTE742 caliber 9 mm, with a metallic black charger and 11 9 mm cartridges.
The search took place outside a home from which one of the searched men had run. During the search, one of the arresting officers noticed a dead body on the patio.
Police found the body of a deceased woman who had been shot. At the scene, police located several shell casings around the body. The two men were taken into custody.
“At the same time the search of these people was being carried out, one of the officers observed that inside the home from which one of the men had run, a lifeless person was found, specifically on the patio which had gunshot wounds on her body and there were shell casings around her,” the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) reported in a statement Sunday.
The detainees were taken to the facilities of the State Attorney General (FGE) facilities for carrying a firearm and alleged involvement in the crime of homicide.
