Another spike in positive SARS-CoV-2 cases for Cancun, Riviera Maya

Cancun, Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Positive cases of SARS-CoV-2 continue to rise in the Cancun, Riviera Maya region with numbers reaching 86 positive cases with four deaths. The Ministry of Health announced the latest figures April 5.

The municipality of Benito Juárez (Cancun) continues to report the most numbers with 58 positive cases followed by Solidaridad with 15, Cozumel five, Othón P. Blanco three, Tulum two, Bacalar one, Isla Mujeres one and Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Bacalar, also each now with one positive case. The ministry says that 51 patients remain under study.

Across the country, Mexico has registered over 2,140 virus cases with 94 deaths, one of which being that of a police officer who became infected with the virus after security duty at a March 14 concert in Mexico City.
